Verticutting

In years gone by, it was considered normal to lower the cutting height of the lawnmower and “scalp” the lawn (commonly referred to as scarifying). These days this is viewed as an outdated method and is seen as being more harmful than beneficial.
Verticutting is similar to the process of scarifying, but in a vertical, as opposed to a horizontal rotary position, using a professional lawn verti-cutting machine, which is normally used on golf greens and fairways. This has the effect of thinning out creeping or runner lawn types such as Kikuyu and Cynodon-type grasses (Bay View and Gulf Green). The following points are relevant: -
a. Verti-cutting of the lawn prevents thatch build-up.
b. Verti-cuting removes the dead lawn which has built up over the winter months.
c. At the same time, we cut and groom the lawn to a manageable height.
d. All grass cuttings will be bagged and removed to the nearest dump (and there will be plenty!).
e. Benefits of the above will result in deeper penetration of water, air and fertilizer to the root system.

Dear Lawn Care

My Complex needs to replace grass in some of the Unit’s gardens.

They are very small gardens. I think there are about 7 units involved. Please let me know how much your instant lawn is per square meter.

with thanks
