Who We Are

Lawn Care Plus is a professional lawn care business serving Sandton, Randburg, Midrand, Fourways, and Centurion. We provide lawn treatments, core aeration, planting, and bespoke garden services to residential and commercial clients across Gauteng.

In line with POPIA, Lawn Care Plus has appointed an Information Officer to handle privacy queries, complaints, and requests from data subjects.

All privacy-related queries, access requests, and complaints should be directed to Nick. We respond to all privacy queries within a reasonable timeframe and aim to reply within 48 hours.

What Information We Collect

We only collect information that is necessary to respond to enquiries, deliver our services, and improve your experience on our website.

Information you provide to us:

  • Your property address and suburb
  • Details about your lawn or garden that help us prepare an accurate quote
  • Any message or query you submit through our website, WhatsApp, SMS, email, or phone

Direct Marketing

In line with POPIA Section 69, we only send direct marketing communications, including SMS promotions, WhatsApp broadcasts, and email newsletters, where you have given clear opt-in consent. Every marketing message includes a simple way to opt out, and we honour opt-out requests promptly.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by replying to a marketing message, or by contacting our Information Officer.

Cookies and Tracking

The cookies and tracking tools used on our website fall into three categories.

  • Essential cookies: required for the website to function correctly. These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics cookies: used by Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it.
  • Marketing cookies: used by Google Ads and the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to show relevant adverts to people who have visited our site.

We also use Cloudflare to protect our website and improve performance. Cloudflare may process limited technical information such as IP addresses for security purposes.

You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable cookies, some parts of the website may not function correctly.

Who We Share Information With

We share personal information only with parties who help us run our business, and only to the extent necessary. These may include the following.

All service providers we work with are expected to handle your information in line with POPIA.

Cross-Border Transfer of Information

Some of the service providers we use, including Google, Meta, Cloudflare, and WhatsApp, store and process information on servers located outside South Africa. POPIA permits these transfers where the receiving country has comparable data protection laws, where the service provider is bound by binding corporate rules or contractual safeguards, or where you have consented to the transfer.

By using our website and services, you acknowledge that your information may be processed outside South Africa under these safeguards.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your personal information only for as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal obligations. Client records linked to services rendered are kept for at least 5 years to comply with South African tax and accounting requirements, and may be kept longer where there is a legitimate business reason. Enquiry records that do not result in services are reviewed and deleted periodically.

Your Rights Under POPIA

You have the right to do the following.

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct or update information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Ask us to delete your personal information, where we are not legally required to retain it
  • Object to your information being used for direct marketing
  • Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These include secure communication channels, restricted access to client records, and the use of trusted service providers such as Cloudflare for website security.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe and review our security practices regularly.

Data Breach Notification

If a security compromise affects your personal information, we will notify the Information Regulator of South Africa and any affected data subjects as soon as reasonably possible, in line with POPIA Section 22.

Automated Decision-Making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects or significantly affects you. All quotes, service decisions, and communications involve a human at Lawn Care Plus.

Third-Party Links

Our website may include links to external sites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or security of any third-party website. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any external site before submitting personal information.

Children’s Privacy

Our services and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
